Triple distilled and patiently aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this original blended Irish whiskey is known the world over for its smooth and gentle complexity. The early floral yet biscuit flavour reflects the grain whiskey, while the soft spicy notes can be attributed to the pot still whiskey in the blend. The citrus flavour is complemented by the malt. Finally notice the nutty or even marzipan note combined with distinctive vanilla in the finish – imparted by the sherry and bourbon casks used in maturation.

Our 12 Year Old Special Reserve is a carefully crafted blend of old Irish whiskeys. Like Tullamore D.E.W. Original, Tullamore D.E.W. 12yo Special Reserve is a triple distilled blend of all three types of Irish whiskey. However, it has a high proportion of pot still and malt whiskeys, matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, for 12 to 15 years. A very fine aged whiskey with great complexity.

NOSE
Early spice followed by red wine while a nice nuttiness follows before a light woody note brought on from 12 years spent in oak casks.


TASTE
A deep spice flavour with a robust yet creamy body cloaked in a definite chocolaty note. Dried fruits and nut accompany the chocolate, giving a verticable praline note in the taste.


FINISH
The finish is long and rich with some citrus, chocolate, raisins and marzipan all lingering.

Tullamore D.E.W. Phoenix is an expression of the great history of town of Tullamore and a celebration of its people. In 1785, Tullamore witnessed a devastating hot-air balloon accident. The resulting blaze nearly destroyed the town but immeasurably strengthened her people. Since that day, they placed a phoenix in the town’s coat of arms. Driven by their positive spirit, the town’s renaissance in the ensuing decades saw the establishment of the Tullamore distillery in 1829.
NOSE
Warm and spicy initially, then rich, toffee, vanilla notes become evident. The characteristic leafy, malty notes of Tullamore D.E.W. are enriched with deeper, toasted oak aroma and a hint of sherry nuttiness.

TASTE
The higher strength tingles on the tongue leaving a spicy pot still flavour. Addition of a little water releases layers of caramel sweetness, delicate floral notes and oak tannins.

FINISH
Long lasting with a lingering warmth. A perfect balance of oloroso sherry sweetness and spicy creamy pot still.

Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask Finished Irish whiskey is made only during the Irish apple harvest (Sept to Nov). We select the finest apples, freshly pressing them to begin a journey of small-batch cider-making. This pressed apple juice is held in oak casks for some months
As the cider ferments, the tart-yet-sweet notes infuse the bourbon casks, creating a layered complexity of nose and taste that is richly rewarding. Our Master Blender then siphons all the fermenting cider, replacing it with precious Tullamore Dew for a further three months.
The result is a rare and noble Irish whiskey that is the essence of Ireland, with notes of toasted oak tinged with cider sweetness to engage and delight the palate of true Irish whiskey lovers.
